Choose a Colour
This may be the best part of the entire wood floor restoration process. This is the part where you get to choose exactly how your new floors are going to look. As fun as this step is though, it is a very important part of the process so choose wisely. No pressure!
Here are a few things to remember when choosing the perfect colour for your home.

Store Colour vs. Home Colour
It never fails, you fall in love with a colour at the store but then you bring it home and it just doesn’t look the same. The samples at the store are impacted by a variety of factors such as lighting, colour of objects around it and those colours are usually just an approximation of the final colour.
We recommend getting a sample of the colour you love and taking it home to examine it there. See if it will match the floor and the contents of the room. Then you will be able to make a good decision on the TRUE stain colour.

Multiple Coats
Usually, we will put at least two coats of your stain on the wood floor. Depending on the type of wood, it may need more as porous wood tends to absorb the stain quite rapidly.
Just remember that the first coat will usually appear darker than the finished product, so if you don’t like it right away, wait until the second coat is on before you throw out the stain and start over
Choosing the right colour can be tricky as there are so many different options but take your time and get this right. The perfect colour will create a certain vibe or atmosphere for the room so think about what you want your room to say and go from there
Light Sources
Your floor stain will look different depending on the light source in the room. For example, an incandescent light bulb tends to be more yellow and warmer than a fluorescent light bulb.
Another thing to consider is the amount of daylight the room gets. Natural light from the window can also impact the colour of the stain.
Sample Board
Choosing a colour is tricky for so many reasons. The fact that it looks completely different once it is dry is one of those reasons. To combat against this, we will put a small sample of your stain on a board in your room
Wait until this sample is fully dried and see if you are still in love with the colour. If you are then we will keep staining. If you are not, then it is back to the drawing (or painting) board.
Really pleased with the end result. Would highly recommend the company for their professional approach and high standard of workmanship.

Thanks it looks amazing. Well done to all the guys who did a splendid job on time. Cleared all rubbish aways as well. Highly recommended. – 30/11/2010

The work was carried out efficiently with a professional service. Where the job ended up being more complex that first envisaged the GJP team invested extra time to sort things out. We were very pleased with the work done. Rachael Atkinson 30/10/2010.

I should like to say that we are very impressed by the work done – the floor looks incredible and also the clear up job afterwards was very professional. There was no mess at all and it was dust free. (I’m not sure how you managed that). Oliver Gillespie 10/12/2010.
